Let Solvang Trolley & Carriage Company take you on a narrated tour of Solvang & the Santa Ynez Valley!
...a real old-fashioned relaxing and fun excursion. Take a ride in a horse-drawn streetcar in this unique old-world quaint European village of Solvang.
A fun way to see the town of Solvang while sitting inside a 1915 replica Honen (Danish for little hen) trolley pulled by Belgian draft horses as they pass by the boutique shops, wine tasting rooms, Danish bakeries, International restaurants, and the windmills of Solvang. It might be at a clip clop pace, but this is the way it used to be before automobiles and motorcycles became the rage.

Danish Days Through the Years
For many years Danish Days were sponsored by the Solvang Business Men?s Association. There were no Danish Days during World War II, however, when Solvang devoted its energies to war relief efforts. After the war, Danish Days was resumed in 1946 and became so successful that almost 10,000 people crowded into Solvang to help the little town celebrate its Danish roots. Crowds became so big, in fact, that Solvang was unprepared to cope with them and cancelled Danish Days in 1959 and 1960.
Instead, the town concentrated on preparing for its Golden Jubilee in 1961. September 22, 23, and 24, 1961 saw another celebration ?to be remembered always.? The fun-filled program included a banquet, torchlight parade, dance and song fest, æbleskiver breakfasts, folk dancing, gymnastic performances, barbecue, art exhibit, a street dance, and a colorful historical pageant parade. Following the Golden Jubilee, Danish Days was revitalized and has continued to be celebrated annually, right up to the present.

Dignity Health began as a single hospital founded on the belief that all people deserve medical care, regardless of their background, ethnicity, or circumstances.
The Sisters of Mercy, originally founded by Catherine McAuley in Dublin, Ireland in 1831, vowed to serve people who suffer from poverty, sickness, and lack of education. In 1854, eight Sisters arrived in San Francisco, California and immediately began caring for residents of a city struck by cholera, then typhoid and influenza. They founded St. Mary's Hospital, now the oldest continuously operating hospital in the city.
Eventually, one facility became many, expanding to serve a rapidly growing population while strengthening its commitment to keeping the human person at the forefront of modern medicine.
In 1986, two congregations of the Sisters of Mercy joined their ten hospitals together, forming Catholic Healthcare West. In 2012, we changed our name to Dignity Health to better describe what we stand for. Dignity is something everyone is born with. To us,
